Zimbabwe is showcasing its tourism opportunities to the world through the “Chalo Zimbabwe” investment promotion campaign in Surat, Gujarat India led by the Honourable Vice President of the Republic of Zimbabwe Gen (Rtd) Dr. C.D.G.N. Chiwenga, from August 22–24, 2025. With a delegation that includes the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Hon. T.M. Mnangagwa the visit highlights opportunities in Conferencing, Accommodation and Sports Tourism. Indian businesses, especially those from Gujarat with strong historic links to Zimbabwe were invited to explore the country’s breathtaking destinations and invest in its Tourism Growth. Engagements with leading companies such as Hare Krishna Diamonds and Aiswarya Textiles Mills were complemented by a high-level networking dinner hosted by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where the Vice President encouraged partners to “Experience and Invest in Zimbabwe.” This initiative is set to create new tourism partnerships, strengthen heritage connections and enhance Zimbabwe’s visibility as a premier travel destination.
